More Projects & News

Dark Horse Winery

The Dark Horse Winery estate was a new construction build that can be found on B Line outside of Grand Bend. The project needed carful attention to detail, with wine storage rooms kept at temperature and moisture controlled conditions the roof is an essential part to this building that opened its doors in the summer of 2016.

SouthWest Marine Power Sports

The SouthWest Marine Power Sports facility has a structurally engineered sloped deck built into the project which helps promote drainage. Smith-peat utilized winter roofing systems and winter appropriate products to help ensure the timeline was met for this project. These innovative systems and products are a specialty that Smith-Peat is equipment for and with the skilled labour force in our employ, the work gets done successfully.

Award Winning Work

It’s always a great to be recognized for doing the work you love. Most recently we received 3 awards from the London District Construction Association. These awards we given out for our work on the Nestle Project Pearl, Southwest Marina + Powersports and St. Peter’s Seminary. A huge congratulations to all of our staff who helped make these projects possible.

Tom Patterson Theatre

This new Construction build had its roofing completed in multiple phases over the course of an entire year. It posed many irregular shapes uncommon to typical flat roofs. The curvature and variety of levels are some of the many architectural features but created challenging roofing details. Smith-Peat assisted in the specification and details of these many roofs during the design process, to ensure the designs met the wishes of the theatre to achieve both a higher level of function and aesthetics. After careful supply and installation of the 2-ply Modified Bitumen roofing system, the sheet metal cap flashings were installed with slip locks and a hidden fasten technique. The curvature of the building was a welcome challenge to our Sheet Metal division that helps ‘cap’ off this stand-out project.

Festival Theatre

This Re-Roofing project was completed throughout winter months on request of the owner to avoid the theatres busy tourist seasons. The featured roof that extends out over the lower level patios and lower level roofs is the main visual attraction when pulling into the Festival Theatre.

Smith-Peat installed the single ply roofing system utilizing the latest technology and equipment at the time, including seam welding robots and winter climate appropriate adhesives. The custom tapered insulation and custom carpentry work on the roof made this project a unique and memorable project in all of Smith-Peats’ past projects.
